About Kate
Hello!I'm Kate Hart, a systems developer who makes music, draws things, & sometimes writes. I've been designing web sites for a few years, and I absolutely love developing for the web! I recently graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.S. in computer science, with a focus on systems. If you're interested in my work, you can view my portfolio or get in touch with me.
About Kejt
Kejt is a cumulation of the things I've learned over the last few years. Everything from the HTML to the typesetting was carefully crafted by myself over the course of nine months. Kejt is a playground for me to experiment with designing for the web while giving me a place to post about the other things in my life. This site will serve as my public sketchbook: a collection of all things visual and audial that I create. While I probably won't be able to get in much practice with my Swedish or Japanese, I intend to fill this site with illustrations and music from the numerous projects I'm always working on!
Fun Fact!
Kejt is actually a punny spelling of my name, riffing off the Swedish pronunciation of ej. It's pronounced just like Kate, which honestly makes it a little awkward to talk about in person. Maybe if I said it with a bit of an accent…
There are also a few little hidden features I've put into Kejt:
- On the individual pages for audio posts, you can skip to a certain part of the audio by adding a timestamp in the form of #mm:ss to the end of the URL. Use this to share the good parts with friends!
- Don't be afraid to start an audio player while another one is playing! As long as the one that's playing is on the same page, it'll be paused so it doesn't play over the player you just started. (This doesn't work if the audio is coming from a different tab, though.)
